How did the Director of A Beautiful Rescue come to know about sex trafficking?
In the summer of 2007, Erin Aili was enjoying life, but wanted to have a deeper purpose. Being a person of faith in Jesus, she asked God to break her heart with the things that break his heart. Soon after stories of sex trafficking kept coming to her attention. She was disturbed that such a thing was happening in our world and didn’t know how to respond to this horrific reality. So she asked God what an ordinary person like her could do to help. Erin enjoys photography and being artistically creative. The idea came to her that she could use the gift of photography as a platform to raise awareness about the issue of sex trafficking and gather finances to aid the victims with their needs of rescue and aftercare. As a result, the initiative A Beautiful Rescue was created.

Where does the name A Beautiful Rescue come from?
The name A Beautiful Rescue is an inspiration from the truth that creation is beautiful, and people are a part of creation. In the Bible it says we are to rescue the oppressed and be a voice for the voiceless. It is truly beautiful that we get to use our gifts and passions to help other people; to play such a vital role in impacting people's lives with truth and love, which in turn will bring healing and freedom.

What is A Beautiful Rescue currently doing?
A Beautiful Rescue has hosted several awareness events over the past three years. Most recently, in September 2011, a professional training was given by Breaking Free to Duluth community members and direct service providers at Hillside Church. Standing Together Against Human Trafficking will be on December 2, 2011 at the Zeitgeist Arts Café. It will be a community awareness and fundraiser on the issue of sex trafficking.
A Beautiful Rescue networks with organizations in Duluth, as well as, a couple in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Our goal is to help victims get out of their oppressive situations and receive aftercare in order to heal and start a new life. A Beautiful Rescue will work with local service providers by giving financial aid and volunteering time and creative activities, such as, art, cooking and music.
